Established in September 2008, the Gentlemen of Willowby Cycle Club was founded by a group of friends who all lived in Yelverton, Devon.
The seven founder members set out on Tuesday 2nd September 2008 for what has turned out to be quite an adventure. Stopping off at the Burtator Inn for some Jail Ale after seeing the Real Ale Week sign, we arrived back in Yelverton after dark with about three working lights, four working mountain bikes and two working riders!!
Within months membership had grown and thousands of pounds had been spent on equipment and beer! Competitions have been raced, Annual Dinners held, Brewery Tours and family BBQs enjoyed and thousands of miles ridden.
Now into our tenth year, we rarely miss our regular Tuesday evening rides, usually metting up at Willowby Park in Yelverton at 7:30pm.
In October 2015 we had our 3rd Dartmoor Brewery Tour which celebrated the arrival of our 3rd set of jerseys. The hospitality was first class and it turned out to be a long night!
